Hearty and flavorful grilled portobello mushroom burgers.

- 4 large portobello mushrooms, stems removed
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, avocado, pickles
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium heat.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Brush both sides of the portobello mushrooms with the marinade.
- Place the marinated mushrooms on the preheated grill.
- Grill for 5-7 minutes per side, or until tender and slightly browned.
- While the mushrooms are grilling, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill if desired.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a grilled portobello mushroom on each bun.
- Add your favorite toppings.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For an extra smoky flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika to the marinade.
- These burgers are delicious served with sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
