- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a tablespoon or two of water or apple cider vinegar to thin it out.
