Description
A refreshing homemade cherry limeade, perfect for a summer drink.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh lime juice (from about 8-10 limes)
- 1 cup cherry syrup (see notes for how to make)
- 4-6 cups cold sparkling water or club soda
- Ice
- Fresh cherries and lime slices for garnish
Instructions
- Fill glasses with ice.
- Add 1/4 cup lime juice and 1/4 cup cherry syrup to each glass. Adjust to your taste.
- Top with sparkling water or club soda.
- Stir gently.
- Garnish with fresh cherries and lime slices.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- To make cherry syrup: Combine 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries (pitted), 1 cup water, and 1 cup granulated sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cherries are soft and the liquid is slightly thickened. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on the cherries to extract all the liquid. Let cool completely before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- You can adjust the sweetness and tartness by adding more or less cherry syrup or lime juice.
- For a non-sparkling version, use still water instead of sparkling water or club soda.
