Description
Make refreshing watermelon sorbet with just two ingredients. This simple recipe is perfect for a hot day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups frozen watermelon chunks
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (optional, for extra zing)
Instructions
- Cut a ripe watermelon into chunks and remove any seeds.
- Place the watermelon chunks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until solid, about 4-6 hours.
- Once frozen, transfer the watermelon chunks to a food processor or high-powered blender.
- Add the lime juice, if using.
- Process the frozen watermelon until a smooth, sorbet-like consistency is achieved. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides a few times.
- Serve immediately for a soft-serve texture, or transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for another hour or two for a firmer sorbet.
Notes
- For the best results, use a very ripe and sweet watermelon.
- If your food processor or blender is struggling, you can add a splash of water or a tiny bit of fruit juice to help it along, but use as little liquid as possible to maintain the sorbet texture.
- Get creative! You can add other fruits like berries or a touch of mint for different flavor combinations.
