Description

Spicy grilled shrimp skewers are a quick and flavorful appetizer perfect for barbecues. The shrimp are marinated in a spicy sauce and grilled until tender.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers


Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the prepared skewers.
  6. Brush the grill grates with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  7. Grill the shrimp skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  8. Remove from the grill and serve immediately.
