Description

- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated shrimp onto the prepared skewers.
- Brush the grill grates with a little oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the shrimp skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Remove from the grill and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to control the level of spice.
- You can add vegetables like bell peppers or onions to the skewers with the shrimp.
- Serve with a side of lime wedges for extra flavor.
