- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 8-10 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado, salsa
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
- While the shrimp is grilling, warm the tortillas according to package directions.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream or yogurt, lime juice, and minced garlic to make the lime crema.
- Assemble the tacos by filling each tortilla with grilled shrimp.
- Drizzle the lime crema over the shrimp.
- Add optional toppings as desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to control the spice level.
- You can use frozen shrimp, just make sure to thaw and pat them dry before marinating.
- For a smoky flavor, use smoked paprika.
- If you don’t have a grill, you can cook the shrimp in a hot skillet.
