Description
This simple Mediterranean-inspired tuna pasta dish features fresh tomatoes, fragrant basil, and rich olive oil for a light and flavorful meal.

- 8 ounces pasta (such as penne or fusilli)
- 1 (5 ounce) can tuna in olive oil, drained
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- While pasta cooks, in a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, halved cherry tomatoes, chopped basil, and olive oil. If using, add minced garlic.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked and drained pasta to the bowl with the tuna mixture. Toss gently to combine.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
- For extra flavor, lightly crush some of the cherry tomatoes before adding them to the mixture.
- A squeeze of fresh lemon juice can brighten the flavors even more.
- This dish is also delicious served cold as a pasta salad.
