Description

These tuna patties are a quick and easy meal. They are made from canned tuna, breadcrumbs, and seasonings, then pan-fried until golden brown.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, flake the drained tuna with a fork.
  2. Add the breadcrumbs, celery, onion, egg, mayonnaise, parsley, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 6-8 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  5. Carefully place the patties in the hot skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and heated through.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or a side salad.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or a squeeze of lemon juice to the mixture.
  • You can prepare the patties ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours before cooking.
  • These patties freeze well. Cook them first, let them cool completely, then freeze them in a single layer before transferring to a freezer-safe bag. Reheat in a skillet or oven.
