Description
This lemon garlic tuna pasta is a light, zesty meal. It’s easy to make and full of flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces pasta (linguine or spaghetti work well)
- 2 cans (5 ounces each) tuna in olive oil, drained
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 2-3 lemons)
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta cooks, prepare the sauce. In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, and olive oil.
- Add the cooked and drained pasta to the bowl with the tuna mixture.
- Stir in the chopped fresh parsley.
- Add a few tablespoons of the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. This helps to emulsify the sauce and coat the pasta.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.
- Toss everything together until well combined.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious lemon garlic tuna pasta.
Notes
- Using tuna packed in olive oil adds richness to the dish.
- Adjust the amount of lemon juice and olive oil to your preference.
